'Night of the Twister'

Night of the Twister is suspense because there isn't any mystery to the story. Also because through the story you never really knew what could happen. I would say the suspense started as soon as she thought she seen something outside, after that it was a wait to see what would happen. Karen finds a way to get a hold of the shotgun, she kills Garth and wounds Jerry. There was red herring when she distracted them by what they thought was a twister which made them panic. They scrambled for the cellar which gave Karen a chance to get the gun and end it. There is poetic justice as she was rewarded her life.

'Courage'

I like the poem 'Courage' better than 'If ' because the farther in 'If ' gives his son advice about how to find that courage in him. Which is better than finding it on your own and that will also lead to a good relationship between the farther and son. It is more couragous though when you have to find it your own way through life. I also like 'Courage' better than 'If ' because the peom tells a quick story about the persons life and how they showed there courage. In 'If ' there is a person telling there son when they will have to use courage. Both Poems are interesting though when it comes down to how there told.

'Being a Man'

Kipling used the word son because he is talking to his son. When he is using the word man he is not talking about just being a man, he is talking about characteristics and traits he wants his son to have. I think what Kipling is saying that he needs to do these things, so he can be a mentor. So he can step up and show pride and be able to lead a family, friends, team or who ever, threw a problem. Kipling thinks that men need these traits more in society but anybody could have these traits. Kipling message is personal to his son cause is proud of him and wants him. I don't think he cares if anybody else does these things or not. What he said though is traits that every person needs to have courage or leadership.

Being Able to Write

Christy being able to write changed his life because he was able to show that he was not a hopeless case. It shows that he is capable of learning to read and write. He can express himself threw art. He will be able to communicate with family members and others. There are careers that he can do even with his disabilities. He succeeded his mother who was told from many doctors that he was hopeless case and that she should put him in a home. She choose not to believe them and kept Christy witch turned out to be the right choice. It is something that gives himself confidence to try and tackle other things in life.
